It really works May 18, 2007 G. Massey (Atlanta, GA) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
Seriously, I never leave home without it. I don't know what it is about my face, but if I'm sweating alot, I am bound to get it in my eyes, and it BURNS, and not only does it burn, but it limits your vision and concentration greatly. And the excuse "Hey I had sweat in my eyes!" doesn't cut it with the teammates after screwing up. I've tried all types of headbands, but they never work past 20 min. They get soaked then start leaking sweat to the eyes. The Halo Headband is able to divert the sweat to the sides of your face and viola, no sweat in eyes. Will this keep your face dry? Absolutely not. Will it keep sweat out of your eyes? Yes and its 99.98% effective.(I just made that stat up, but I've never had a problem since using the headband) When I first tried it out, I thought it was not working cause my face was soaked. But afterwards I realized I never once had to stop and dry my eyes that day, or the entire Atlanta Summer.
Its been a little over the year, and the rubber part has cracked down the middle. I thought that this could cause a problem, but no problem thus far. I'm going to buy new one however. Just to have another color for variety. And just in case my first one does happen to fall apart or get lost.
If you suffer from sweat in the eyes I suggest you try this product.
Halo Headband Helpful August 11, 2007 PorkPie51 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
It works... very well. I ride my bike for an hour or more each outing and in the summer, with a helmet on, sweating is a major annoyance. The Halo headband keeps the sweat from running down your face, into your eyes -- mostly by absorbing into the elastic headband and evaporating. Anything else is diverted by the rubber "dam." Takes a bit of getting used to under a helmet but now it's not noticed. I have the pullover version, probably best for under helmets.
Nice low profile and blocks sweat August 16, 2008 P. Patterson 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I sweat a lot!! I've been known to find salt crystals on my bike after a long ride on a hot day. A good sweat band is a must for me. After years of using those generic, thick sweat bands I decided to get something that would fit under my helmet with less pain than I got with those thick bands. I liked the looks of the halo and ordered the stretch version. It works great!! the band actually absorbs sweat and the strip directs any excess down your cheeks and away from the eyes. I've been using it all summer and I am getting a second one soon.
The only downside is the strip can leave it's impression on your forehead after removal... Minor problem.
No more wiping sweat off June 28, 2009 Randy L. Thurman (Oklahoma City, OK United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I usually run in a nike fit hat. Nice hat, but it doesn't keep the sweat out of my eyes on long runs on hot days. I was wiping sweat off constantly trying to keep it out of my eyes. I decided to try this and it worked great. I ran a 5k in 85 degree weather without having to wipe sweat off even once. The headband after the race was filled with sweat and wringing it out is semi-disgusting but it didn't go into my eyes. It worked. I highly recommend this for runners.
I saw another review with a biker not liking it. I don't know if it would work for bikers due to wearing a helmet. The helmet may compress the material causing it to not absorb.
My eyes no longer burn July 22, 2009 Steve Ptasznik (Ca) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a runner and wear glasses. It is hard to wipe the sweat away while wearing glasses. The Halo has saved my eyes from burning. It took me a long time before I impulsed and bought it at an expo. One of my better impulse buys. But of course I have lost it and now that it is summer, I need to order a new one.
